New BID Manager

We welcome to our team our new BID Manager, from Monday 10 October – Graham Philpot.

Graham joins us from a BID in the West End of London and brings his experience to Newmarket. For the past 30+ years, Graham has lived in and around Norfolk and joins us with a wealth of experience in both economic development, town centre management and the BID industry. His arrival will help steer the Newmarket BID through to the end of its first term in 2021.

An introduction from Graham: “Hello and thank you to those of you that I have already met and the warm reception I have received. With the positive result for the BID in July, I feel Newmarket is already starting to look forward. With the White Hart re-opening and town library launch event, it was the first opportunity for me to see the investment and intent by local businesses to continue trading in the town for years to come.

I have joined from the Fitzrovia Partnership BID, where my primary role was to support our local businesses on and around Tottenham Court Road and Charlotte Street, particularly focusing on the retail and evening economy sectors. Previous to this, I was involved in town centre management and economic development in Swindon and Cheltenham (another horse-racing town). This experience, combined with my local knowledge, will enable me to support Newmarket into the coming years. With some fantastic events on the horizon for the remainder of the year and into 2017, I look forward to meeting you all and receiving your feedback on the past, present and future.
