Residents and independent traders alike were thrilled during the Halloween extravaganza, with a bumper ghost walk that lasted over three hours and took in all of the key sights of Newmarket town centre.
Expertly delivered by Chris Jensen-Romer, who has helped to make some of Britain’s most-loved ghost shows, the 70 participants had a scream. We took in locations such as the new Heritage Centre (and a big thanks to the security team who let us have a wander around), Rutland Hotel (who reported to us some paranormal activity including a full ghost sighting in the past two months), Peacocks (scene of a bomb blast during WW2) and The Bull (far too many spirits were seen here).
If you have missed out on this occasion, then don’t fear, as we plan to do another ghoulish tour next year.
In the meantime, if your shop, restaurant or home is based within the town centre, and you think it’s haunted, then please do tell us your tales, as we’d love to involve you. E-mail us with your stories, and we might publish the best ones and work with you on future events.
